With the objective of horizontally diversifying its activity, the Oscacer Group invested in the creation of a new industrial unit for the production of reinforcement, Steelgreen, S.A.
The idea of this investment came out of the fundamental aim of the reinforcement structures production that are incorporated in the shoes of the wind power towers in wind farms. The main activity of this company is the rebar cutting and shaping for the renewable energies sector with a high potential of growth, essentially because of the geographical area where it is installed.
The investment of Steelgreen on this market emerged as a great intention of strategic innovation and technological development being this project supported by the incentive system through the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) under the classification of Incentives for Innovation and Renovation of the Business Model.
The project nr. FCOMP-02-0203-FEDER-004988 approved on the 16th of January 2009, with an investment over 2,5M€ and to be realized in 29 months, gives Steelgreen the opportunity to adapt its installations with technological advanced equipments, working conditions of high level and immediate capacity of response to the emergent market of the renewable energies, namely that of the wind energy.
